Welcome to my website, here you will find a wealth of information on photography.

Firstly you will find tutorial articles on photography from the menu area to the right, they will help you develop an eye for taking outstanding photographs.

Photography once was a very expensive pastime but with the growing popularity of computers and digital cameras, it is becoming more and more affordable every day.

The professional kit will always be of a premium price but for the amateur there is a wealth of keenly priced equipment available nowadays that can return some truly stunning results, so it doesn’t always need to be a top brand as all you really need is a camera with a good lens and a body that for a film camera doesn’t let any light in or for a digital one has a reasonably good megapixel capability.

Film cameras can now be obtained at very affordable prices on the second-hand market but the expense of processing can be quite steep, where as digital cameras although they command higher prices, the processing costs are far more affordable as you can view your images first and select just the ones you want to have printed or print them off yourself if you have the computer equipment to do so.

Having said that, digital cameras have also been around for a fair few years now so bargains can be had on the used market for them as well so if you are starting out without any equipment, then a second-hand camera could well be a very good starting point. (which was how I myself started out)

Most serious photographers say to get the best results you have to have a film camera, but digital cameras have come a long way in recent years and with digital you can view your results instantly and simply delete any images that haven’t turned out as you would have liked, plus being able to view all of your images first before processing means that side will always prove most cost effective.

Again the truly serious photographers will say you have to have an SLR (single lens reflex) camera to get the best results, and although I personally prefer SLRs, I have had some excellent results with non-SLR models so what really counts is the resulting image rather than the equipment used to capture it.

Besides taking great photographs depend solely on the skill of the person behind the camera so I’ll better let you continue on to the tutorials, I hope you find them informative and they inspire you to take better pictures.
